Estou no Mexico, em Puerto Vallarta. Estou aqui para trabalhar, aprender español e vivencia uma cultura diferente. Cheguei no dia 26 e a verdade é que a primeira impressão foi muito ruim. Dei uma volta pela cidade e ate ai estava tudo bem.. mas depois me deixaram em uma casa provisória em Valle Dorado. Este bairro na verdade esta em Ñueva Vallarta, bem perto do lugar onde vou trabalhar todos os dias, mas muito longe do centro, da praia e da facilidade dos serviços do dia a dia. Quando vi o bairro, não pude crer. Me lembrei na hora da abertura do seriado Weeds: Little boxes on the hill side….there´s a pink one and a blue …. and they all look just the same. O bairro é feito de casas iguais.. uma ao lado da outra. Detalhe: no seriado as casa são todas grandes, bonitas e com quintal. Algumas ruas com 2 andares, algumas quadras depois ha. algumas casas que formam um pequeno condomínio com uma piscina comum. E mais ao fundo do bairro, as casa mais simples, de 2 quartos e 1 banheiro. Estou em uma destas.Todas iguais. Ha um bar aquí, uma lavanderia ai, locadora… mas poucas pessoas na rua. A maioria dos que vivem ai são trabalhadores mexicanos que não podem pagar o preço do aluguel mais perto do centro já que o turismo fez com que os preços subissem bastante nos últimos anos. Uma casa em Valle Dorado sai mais ou menos 100 dólares mensais, para 1 piso. As de 2 andares custam um pouco mais, especialmente as mais bonitinhas do começo do bairro. Mais de 80% dos turistas são americanos e este população flutuante influencia em muito a vida e os negócios aqui. A todo lado se vê Wall-Mart, Chillis, Starbucks, Dominos pizza, Sam´s club, muitos carros grandes típicos de EUA. E quase todos aqui falam inglês perfeitamente. Ha muito o que dizer deste lugar, mas por enquanto deixo aqui algumas fotos deste bairro tão repetitivo…

Im in Puerto Vallarta, México. I’m here to work, to learn Spanish and to experience a new culture. I arrived on the 26 and the truth is that the first impression wasn’t that good. They drove me around the city center and until there everything was fine. But after that I was left at a temporary house that the company owns in a neighborhood called Valle Dorado. This neighborhood is pretty close to the place that I go to work every day, but very far from downtown, from the beach and the daily services that I might need. When I saw the place I didn’t quite believe. It reminded me of the opening of the Weeds TV show: little boxes on the hill side….there´s a pink one and a blue …. and they all look just the same. The neighborhood is made of thousands of the same house. Detail: at the TV show all the houses are big, nice and have a back yard.. it is not the case here. The first part of the neighborhood the houses have 2 floors, after there is a few houses that closed their street and made they own shared pool and put some gates creating a small condo. And further we get the very simple houses with 2 rooms and 1 bath and a very small kitchen. I’m in one of theses. They are all the same. There is a bar here and there, laundry, small grocery, and very few people at the street. Mostly of the houses have Mexican working class families living in. They can’t afford the rent in downtown since tourism pushed the prices up in the last years. A 1 floor house in Valle Dorado costs about US$100 a month. The 2 floors ones a bit more, in especial the nicest one at the beginnig of the neighborhood Over 80% of the tourists are Americans and this floating population creates an impact on the life style here. We see Wall-Marts, Chillis, Starbucks, Dominos pizza, Sam´s club, and big American cars everywhere. And almost everybody speaks perfect English. There is a lot to say about this place, but for now I’ll give some photos from this repetitive neighborhood.
